Animal testing question

Which beauty brands belong to which groups?

The answer

From each group's own website

A handful of big groups sit behind many familiar beauty brands. For example, L'Oréal lists CeraVe, Garnier and NYX in its brand portfolio. Estée Lauder lists The Ordinary, Clinique and M·A·C, and Unilever lists Dove and Dermalogica. The table below takes each list from the group's own website. A portfolio can include brands used under licence rather than owned outright, so read it as “part of the group's range”, not as a list of legal owners.

If you shop cruelty-free

Does a brand's cruelty-free logo cover its parent group?

Certification schemes

Check each brand

No. A scheme such as the Leaping Bunny can approve a single brand without approving the rest of its group. Look up each brand on the scheme's own website. Brands are bought, sold and licensed all the time, so check the date on this page.

Selected brands by group

Selected groups only, as listed on each group's website on 2 November 2026. Being on this list, or not, says nothing about a brand's animal testing or certification.
